What to Include in a Cover Letter

CollegeGrad.com presents "What to Include in a Cover Letter"

Transcript:

Hi, everyone. I'm Brian Krueger with CollegeGrad.com and this is The Job Search Minute. A well-written cover letter includes three paragraphs. First paragraph: why you are writing. Name the specific job opportunity, and, or, how you were referred. Second paragraph: Briefly state the top two or three skills from the summary section of your resume, and immediately follow with the benefits these skills from you as a person will provide to the employer. Third paragraph: close, not just close in the rudder, but closing on next steps. Give your target contact a specific action to take, and a backup action you will take if you do not get a response. This has been The Job Search Minute, for more career information please visit CollegeGrad.com.
